Recover And Detoxify With Foam Rolling

Apr 02, 2023

The Benefits of Foam Rolling

Foam rolling helps release lactic acid and other metabolic wastes built up in the connective tissues. By applying pressure to specific points on your body you are able to aid in the recovery of muscles and assist in returning them to normal function. Foam Rolling has the same effect as a deep tissue massage to release muscle tightness and toxins.

Intense workouts, poor posture, being desk-bound, lack of sufficient rest or other lifestyle choices can contribute to tension and tight muscles. Foam rolling can assist in breaking up these muscle knots resuming normal blood flow and function to the muscles.

Long runs and exercise cause micro-tears and swelling in muscle fibers, which can impinge on your nerves. Over time, this can develop into adhesions and scar tissue. Foam rolling helps smooth out these obstructions and break down adhesions, helping to increase blood- flow within the muscle.

Used by athletes and physical therapists, foam rolling,

a Self-Myofascial Release technique

  • Activates the sensory receptors connecting your muscle fibers to the tendons
  • Lengthens your muscles, and breaks up adhesions and scar tissue
  • Helps with overall relaxation of your muscles

The net effect is better blood circulation, which in turn speeds up workout recovery and boosts performance.
